Nearly three decades ago, our journey began. We've been deeply committed to enhancing the lives of people with physical challenges since inception.
Handicapable Vans, now Legacy Vans, was founded by John Lee and Daryel Dunaway, two pioneers who knew firsthand the challenges that people with limited mobility experience. The company emerged from their personal understanding of the quest for independence. For them, being a wheelchair user wasn't a limitation but became a motivator.
Today, Legacy Vans is led by Ellen Lee, a woman who shared a profound bond with John and enjoyed 38 years of blissful marriage. During her 25 years of experience as a rehab nurse, Ellen has supported and encouraged countless individuals during their transformative journeys. She fondly recalls the liberating road trips she and John embarked on, thanks to the freedom granted by John’s mobility conversion van. Whether it was a cross-country escapade or one of John's solo drives that he enjoyed so much, the essence was clear: freedom knows no bounds.
